How do I join the team?
We are beginning to recruit for our show team for the 2017/2018 season. We will hold try outs at the beginning of September 2017. Please e-mail us for more information on joining the team.
How much does it cost?
One of the best qualities of the OUEA is the affordability. As students, most of us can’t afford the financial or time commitments that come with traditional horse ownership. This is where the OUEA comes in: it offers students a way to continuing riding and competing in an affordable manner. The only costs associated with competing at OUEA shows are the entry fees ($55/ show), the annual OUEA membership ($40), and an OEF membership (for insurance reasons and most people who ride already have one). Traditional hunter show attire is required, but if students don’t already have their own, teams are usually pretty good about sharing between members to keep the costs down. The only other costs would be sharing for gas and hotels for shows that are far away. Compared to a traditional show, this is a very affordable option.
